When I heard this quote by illustrator Barry Blitt I was like YAS #nailedit 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 He explained exactly how I feel about my contour drawings.
Pictured here are some experimental screen-prints that evolve around this very idea of capturing something in that initial moment of discovery. I sometimes feel these quick gestural drawings can reveal more about the subject than a detailed study. This work is also an experiential art form for me. It highlights the beauty of when I get lost in the lines of a subject matter.
Okay....that was a pretty artsy explanation 👩🏻‍🎨 but whatever it’s true! 😌
